Would anyone mind?

Can the rest of this blog be about how Kevon Looney just grabbed 11 rebounds in one quarter?

Game 6 Klay came to play in first quarter

Clay Thompson’s first quarter: 11 points on 4/5 FG. It does look like one of those Game 6 nights for his jumper.

Warriors only lead 30-26.

We’ve seen this movie before

The theme of this series is happening again. The Warriors turn the ball over a ton. The Grizzlies don’t turn it over much and force a bunch of takeaways.

And guess what? Golden State has five turnovers early, compared to only one for Memphis.

Turnovers are a killer

Immediate 8-0 Grizzlies run when the Warriors go smaller.

Turnovers continue to kill them.

Making up for lost time

Dillon Brooks is making up for lost time. He couldn’t buy a shot in this series … until about five minutes ago.

He just drained back-to-back 3s and has already his three triples in the first seven minutes of this game.

Job well done, Kevon Looney

This bigger starting lineup with Draymond and Looney did its job. In for defensive purposes.

Held the Grizzlies to eight points in six minutes. Up 16-8. Jordan Poole enters.

Watch the turnovers early

First quarter turnovers for the Warriors in this series: 7, 6, 6, 4, 4. Those are big numbers.

Early indicator on what type of night it’ll be for GSW is how well they’re protecting possession of the ball.

Celtics force Game 7 with 108-95 Game 6 win

Just a special game for Jayson Tatum. The Celtics needed to escape a whole lot in this one, but he had every answer early in the fourth to keep the Bucks at bay.

Game 7 should be fun.

What a performance by Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum finishes the night with 46 points on 17-of-32 shooting, 7-for-15 from 3. Managed to outscore and somehow take just about as many shots as Giannis, who got to the line 15 times.

Finally a crown jewel performance for Tatum in this series to send it to Game 7. He’s been overwhelmed with Milwaukee’s physicality and settling all series. He settled at times tonight, but kept fighting in a way he hasn’t shown all series.

Now he has saved the Celtics’ season.

Celtics up, 95-87, with 5:23 left.

Celtics with a 13-point heading into the fourth

The Celtics are now the first team in this series to win 3 quarters in a row.

They’ve had some major ups and downs within these quarters, but Udoka has made a crucial sub to bring the offense back to focus when it strays from the game plan.

Tatum has gotten way too overzealous at times mismatch hunting in predictable ways the Bucks can shut down, but Smart and White have been there to get them back on track and run plays.

Meanwhile, Giannis has had to do pretty much everything for Milwaukee’s offense.

Warriors’ offensive strategy for Game 6

The Warriors are leaning into the Grizzlies’ preferred style tonight and starting Kevon Looney next to Draymond Green.

It’s a defensive/rebounding frontcourt that GSW has mostly avoided this series because of spacing concerns.

In comes Giannis

Giannis comes back into the game a couple minutes later. Celtics lead up to 14.

They dodged a couple of pretty good 3-point looks, but still built the lead back out by five.

Key minutes for Boston

Big stretch here for the Celtics after letting the Bucks back into the game.

Tatum’s got the hot hand

Jayson Tatum is up to 23 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. The Celtics now lead 63-48 with just over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Launching from a distance

The Celtics seem determined to turn up the shooting variance in this game by attempting a ton of 3-point attempts.

They took 25 in the first half and made 11 of them. On the other end, the Bucks just can’t get much of anything going offensively.

It’s all about Antetokounmpo and Holiday and those two have scored 33 points, but the rest of the team has tallied just 10 on their own and made only 5 of the 19 shots they’ve attempted.
