The offseason is cooling down a bit and the Dallas Cowboys are primed for another solid year of football. Although the front office traded Amari Cooper away to the Cleveland Browns, there is reason to believe this franchise will still compete for the NFC East crown. The 2022 NFL season is several months away, however, we take a look at some of our way too early predictions for the Cowboys.
Considering the roster is a bit more balanced now, Dallas has a real chance to make some noise. They have legitimate superstars on both sides of the ball, which bodes well for their chances. Micah Parsons is an absolute stud and could prove himself as the best defensive player in the league next season. Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ offense will remain at the top of the NFL with CeeDee Lamb taking over as the top pass option in the offense.
If everything comes together, we should see Dallas at the top of the rankings throughout the season. They’ll have some stiff competition as the Philadelphia Eagles have made big moves to improve their roster. However, the Cowboys will have a real chance to clinch the NFC East Championship back-to-back years. If they can do that, then this team might just go on a Super Bowl run.
With that said, here are three, way too early predictions for the Cowboys’ 2022 NFL season.

Cowboys Way Too Early Predictions For The 2022 NFL Season
3. Micah Parsons wins Defensive Player of the Year by a landslide
Micah Parsons nearly won the Defensive Player of the Year award in his rookie season. He played so well that it feels crazy to believe that his game is only going to improve. The Cowboys are going to have a mean defense and Parsons is going to play a large part in helping Dallas compete in the upcoming season.
This kid is an absolute monster. Even as a rookie he was in the running for the DROY. With a year of experience under his belt along with a full camp this summer, Micah Parsons is bound to make some noise for the Cowboys for years.
2. CeeDee Lamb ends the year as a top-three wide receiver
Amari Cooper’s departure creates an opportunity for CeeDee Lamb to separate himself from the rest of the league. We’ve seen Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase both boom as the top pass options for their respective teams. Now, Lamb gets his shot at being the number one pass option for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.
Considering how well Prescott has played throughout his career, there is no reason to believe CeeDee Lamb can’t live up to expectations. He’s been a phenomenal second option so far in his career, but now that he’s the number one target, we should see Lamb’s production take a significant leap. He has the potential to put up elite numbers for Dallas.
1. Cowboys become back-to-back NFC East Champions
There hasn’t been a repeated divisional winner in the NFC East since 2004. That’s nearly 20 years of four teams rotating as the divisional winners. Regardless, the Cowboys have a legitimate chance to break this insane streak and secure an NFC East Championship in the upcoming season. If they can do that, then Dallas should be seen as a legitimate contender in the NFL.
They’ll need everyone to be on point throughout the entire season. Between Micah Parsons, CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs, Dak Prescott, and Ezekiel Elliott, they have a chance to outplay their divisional rivals. It will be a difficult road, but the Cowboys have the pieces to clinch the division in back-to-back years.
